Southern Cross Marine is part of The SCC Group, founded in 1980 as a small cleaning operation. The SCC Group has developed into a substantial national organization, now supplying marine services and a boat brokerage business encompassing brokered sales of new and second hand vessels.
The SCC Group took on board Marina Boat Sales SA in June 2016 and is now run by our Marine Services Operation Manager, Mark Engledow.

A good team needs a good captain and Southern Cross Marine Dealer Principal, Mark Engledow, brings some 20 years’ experience to the table.
Prior to joining The SCC Group, Mark ran his own marine business in South Africa, offering a comprehensive vessel management service. Furthermore, he gained a wealth of experience working on vessels large and small, in locations ranging from the USA and Caribbean to the Mediterranean, South Africa, Middle East and South Australia.
As a Master of Vessels, Mark’s expertise spans electronics, engines and motors, navigation equipment, air conditioning systems, desalination systems, hulls, bilges, safety systems, cleaning and maintenance, staff issues, and all elements of the day-to-day running of vessels from small tenders to luxury motor yachts.
Furthermore, given his extensive experience as a captain of charter vessels, Mark is well versed in the safe and efficient operation of the vessels he commands, as well as local and international maritime laws.
He is also highly regarded for his executive management and communication skills, all of which serve him well. Whether Mark is meeting clients, planning voyages, managing staff, overseeing catering, or arranging special events and functions, he has the skills and experience to ensure the success of any charter.
